Lucasarts has established a reputation for producing high-quality games, yet it also has a history of releasing titles that fall short of expectations. This inconsistency makes it challenging to predict the outcome of their projects, as even the most eagerly awaited games can disappoint. However, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter managed to hit the mark, delivering a solid gaming experience. While there are areas that could benefit from further refinement, several standout elements help mitigate these shortcomings.
Set shortly after The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter follows Jingo Fett as he pursues various bounties. He is summoned by Count Dooku to eliminate a rogue Jedi whose cult is becoming a nuisance to Darth Sidious. The narrative unfolds in classic Star Wars style, which is one of the game's strong suits. The cutscenes that advance the plot are expertly crafted and could easily entice players on their own.
The gameplay, however, presents a mixed experience with certain issues that can lead to frustration. Jango is equipped with a wide array of gear and weapons that need to be readily accessible. Unfortunately, managing this inventory can be cumbersome, as all items are cycled through using a single button. This can lead to frantic moments where, while using the visor, players may find themselves scrolling through their arsenal in search of a specific weapon, only to accidentally skip over it and have to start the process again. Although holding down the button to scroll can alleviate some of this chaos by pausing the action, unexpected enemy attacks can make it difficult to select the right weapon without taking damage.

The name Fett holds significant prestige, and LucasArts is well aware of this. It's surprising that it has taken so long to release a game focused entirely on the most iconic armor in the galaxy. The game in question is Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, which, while not featuring Boba Fett himself, allows you to step into the shoes of his father, Jango. Ultimately, the emphasis is on the armor, so fans of Boba need not worry too much. If you've watched Episode II, you know that Jango is more than capable of pulling off some impressive Fett-like feats.
