The protagonist's journal serves as the setting for the narratively based role-playing game, The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante. The story centers on a man who has dared to question the status quo in a brutal world where any kind of dissent is brutally put down. Start a journey that will last a lifetime and develop into a person who can shape their own future. But keep in mind that freedom is never inexpensive.
The harshest lot in the Great Arknian Empire is yours simply by virtue of your birth circumstances. You are a commoner with no title or rights. You must confront ingrained tradition and prejudice if you want to take control of your destiny and inherit the Brante family's legacy. From birth to actual death, you will have to go through a lot of changes, encounter hardship, and make a lot of tough decisions. Every choice will have an impact on the main character, his loved ones, and his family; it might even bring down the Empire itself.
Key features:
When time turned
The estate determines the course of each imperial citizen's life. This truth has been given to the world by the Twin Gods, who have divided mortals into lots. While the clergy leads people on the only real path and the nobles lead and rule over others, the lowborn suffer and toil for the glory of the Empire. You have the ability to alter the cosmic order that governs everything, even if you choose to accept your fate without question.
Your decision is real.
The game is broken up into chapters that record the player's actions, the abilities they learned, and other overlapping situations that create a different storyline for every playthrough. Every choice you make has repercussions, and you will be held responsible for your actions at every stage. To defend your family and loved ones, to establish the Emperor's rule and amass wealth, or to attempt to alter the course of history as you see fit... Make your decision, but watch out for the foolishness of ambition and pride.
Put your life in danger.
In this world, one man is far from omnipotent, but with your help, Sir Brante might develop the strength to face every challenge life presents and change the rules that govern his own universe! Build and hone your character, enhancing qualities like perseverance, sensitivity, and resolve. The hero's personality, worldview, and relationships will be influenced by all of his skills, beginning with those learned during infancy, which will eventually open up new abilities and potential plot points.
Choose your route.
You could spend up to fifteen hours on the first thorough walkthrough! Every playthrough will be different due to the many branching paths that influence the plot: become a noble judge, learn the Inquisition's methods, plot a revolution as a member of a secret society, or adopt a completely different goal. Have courage, and destiny will work in your favor!
Both there and after
The character's experience is preserved after death thanks to the resurrection system, which enables the player to review previous actions and modify their approach moving forward. Take charge of both your life and your death, then risk everything in this cycle of rebirth and death!
