Caves of Lore has been a deeply personal journey for me. I’m a self-taught solo developer who spent six years bringing this game to life while balancing a full-time job and family responsibilities. No big studio, no large team—just steady, consistent effort. Even on the busiest days, I committed to working on it for at least five minutes. Piece by piece, the world slowly took shape. I didn’t have everything mapped out from the start—I discovered the direction of the game as I built it, letting the ideas grow naturally over time.

What Is Caves of Lore?

Caves of Lore is a turn-based fantasy CRPG presented in detailed pixel art. It blends exploration, story-driven character interactions, and tactical grid-based combat into one cohesive experience.

You’ll venture through mysterious environments, uncover secrets, meet unusual characters, and face off against a variety of strange and dangerous creatures. The game balances classic role-playing depth with a touch of humor and unexpected moments, creating an adventure that feels both nostalgic and fresh.

How to Download and Install

Click the Download button to be redirected to the hosting page.
Wait a few seconds, then select the blue Download Now option.
Once the file has finished downloading, locate the .zip file.
Right-click the file and choose Extract (you can use 7-Zip or the built-in Windows extractor).
Open the extracted folder.
Run the setup application.
Accept the license agreement and complete the installation.
Launch the game using the desktop shortcut created during setup.
