Dread X Collection 3 is a collective love letter to the experimental game genre. Eleven indie development teams (including returning modernist Torple Dook) were given a simple but powerful challenge: create a horror game in just ten days, but do it beautifully.
The result is a gorgeous collection of twelve short, self-contained tracks set in a deep underground labyrinth. It follows the journey of Leo and his alien consciousness, Prometheus, as they travel to a mysterious palace high above the clouds. To help Prometheus recover his damaged memories, you must investigate the mysterious games scattered throughout the palace tomb.
Instead of relying on predictable dark alleys and modern horror, this collection shifts its focus. It uses bright colors, vaguely ancient beauty, and seemingly innocent themes to make you feel in awe. One minute you’re playing a colorful cartoon platformer or serving light ice cream; the next, the surroundings turned into a nightmare.
