MENACE is a turn-based tactical RPG that puts you in the shoes of a Republic Navy commander. Set in the isolated, lawless Wayback System, you’re tasked with maintaining order in a border region plagued by pirate warlords, corrupt corporations, and a fragile planetary government.
However, what begins as a pacification mission quickly turns into a fight for survival. A mysterious existential threat, called the Menace, begins to emerge from the dark corners of the system. Operating from your attack cruiser, the TCRN Impetus, you must lead a strike force made up of marines, mercenaries, and even criminals to unite the system before it is taken over by an unknown alien force.

What sets MENACE apart from other tactical games like XCOM is its “accomplished” simulation and the sheer scale of its combat.
1. Brutal large-scale tactical combat:
Forget screens; MENACE is all about joint warfare. You’re not just managing individual soldiers, you’re commanding entire squads, heavy tanks, and agile mecha. The battlefield is unforgiving, with the following features:
- True Ballistics: All bullets and plasma shots are tracked, making positioning and cover placement a life or death decision.
- Suppression Mechanics: Heavy fire can take down enemies, demoralize them, and reduce their effectiveness, a feature that rewards tactical aggression.
